The Bulk Image Alt Generator uses vision-capable AI models to write concise alternative text for WooCommerce product images. It writes approved results to the WordPress attachment alt text field.

Open it from AI Product Tools > Bulk Image Alt Generator.

What it updates

Approved alt text is saved to each image attachment's WordPress alt text field (_wp_attachment_image_alt). It does not rewrite product descriptions or product meta.

Basic workflow

Open Bulk Image Alt Generator.
Select products.
Select the specific product images you want to process.
Choose provider, model, max length, and available prompt/tone options.
Generate alt text.
Review each image result.
Edit, regenerate, dismiss, or apply results.
Check a product image in the Media Library or product page markup.

Output rules

Good alt text should:

Describe what is visible in the image.
Include useful product context when it helps shoppers or screen reader users.
Stay concise, usually under 125 characters.
Avoid phrases such as "image of" or "photo of".
Avoid keyword stuffing.
Use plain text only, not HTML or markdown.

Provider requirements

Image alt generation requires a provider/model that can process image input. If a selected model does not support vision, choose a different model or provider.

Premium controls

Depending on plan, premium image workflows can include gallery handling, tone controls, attribute enrichment, additional prompts, templates, and A/B variants.

Best practices

Start with featured images for your best-selling products.
Review alt text for accuracy before applying.
Keep decorative words out of alt text.
Use product attributes such as color/material when they are visible in the image.
Do not describe hidden features that cannot be seen.
